Rocket Mortgage Classic Raises Over $17K for Local Charities
The Rocket Mortgage Classic Golf and Give program has been around for a number of years giving back to the local Detroit community. The program invites non-profit organizations that are based in Michigan to fundraise and sell tickets to the Rocket Mortgage Classic. By doing so they receive a portion of each sale to help support their mission. Participating organizations receive 100% of all donations raised and $30 from every competition round ticket purchased in their name under the program (Thursday through Sunday). It provides a true win-win for the tournament and the local community.
While the program has continued to grow and be more successful, it has become more taxing on the internal staff at the tournament as it was not fully automated. With plans for continued growth, the Rocket Mortgage Classic was seeking a solution and Spinzo was able to assist.
Running the Golf and Give program through Spinzo the Rocket Mortgage Classic had the ability to add a donation-only option in addition to the purchase ground passes with a donation. To track fundraising efforts the Classic could provide individualized branded links to each charity or use a centralized link that asked buyers a question as they checked out to provide the direction of their fundraising dollars. The Rocket Mortgage Classic chose to have buyers answer a question at checkout to identify where their fundraising dollars would go. This year 68 different charities from Michigan signed up for the program.
Spinzo took away the stress of tracking fundraising amounts per group and the process of paying out the fundraising dollars, all while providing up-to-the-second tracking of sales and conversion rates for the tournament.
In just two months:
- Over 321 grounds passes sold
- Over $17,000 raised
- 68 charites benefited
- Checks issued and mailed within 2 weeks of the event
