NHL Team Drives Almost 7,000 Tickets with a BOGO Game Deal

A NHL team looking to drive volume for their heavy schedule of December and January games developed a Buy One Get One game deal that they would run through the Black Friday and Cyber Monday timeframe.  

The concept allowed a fan to choose any December game of their choice and with the purchase of that game they would get the opportunity to select the same number of tickets for a January game of their choice.  Using Spinzo’s Flex Plan technology this entire process was automated.

The buyer picked their December game and in their confirmation email they instantly received a unique code good for the same number of tickets they purchased and a link to choose their January game. 

The team had access to full reporting tracking purchase details for each fan and redemption data.

  • 6,900 Tickets Sold in initial purchase
  • $455K in ticket revenue

The success of this program prompted the team to replicate it in the Spring for March and April games.  That promotion ran for a shorter period of time, finished with excellent results as well selling 3,325 tickets for $180K in revenue.

This is a great example of how you can amplify the traditional buy one get one free offering.  These buyers are now being trained to come to multiple games and are prime candidates for flex plans and other package offerings.
